GOLF: Chargers win, Mounties set new school record

DARLINGTON — North Montgomery's girl's golf team won again Thursday night over South Putnam 216-217.

Chloe Maxwell was the co-medalist with a scored of 47. Abbie Horn fired a 53, while Grace Littell carded a 57, and Morgan Swick a 59. Grace Shrader had a 60, Ella Stultz a 68, and Maggie Yeager a 70.

Despite the win, the Charger's average score for the season increased, and first-year coach Nick Johnson continues to preach the little things still in the early part of the season.

"We are still very inconsistent with our mid and short irons," he said. "This will definitely be a point of emphasis next week during practice."

Mounties set new 9-hole record

The Southmont girl's golf team defeated Sagamore Conference foe Danville 177-201, and set a new school-record for lowest 9-hole team score in the process at the Crawfordsville Country Club on Thursday.

Bailey Thompson was the medalist with a 42, while Erin Williams shot a 43. Taylor Grino fired a 45, and Carson White rounded out the Mountie's score with a 47.

Athenians fall in Westfield

The Crawfordsville girl's golf team traveled to Wood Wind Golf Club in Westfield and fell to University 191-200 on Thursday.

Bailey Mittal led the way with a 52, while Evie and Gwen Redding both shot 53s, and Georgia Kincaid fired a 53.

Mustangs compete at Harrison Hills

The Fountain Central girl's golf team competed with Seeger, Attica, Covington, and Western Boone at Harrison Hills on Thursday.

The Mustangs shot a 269, led by Nola Wall's 62. Gracie Foxworthy fired a 67.
