Groups combine to send love to Meals on Wheels clients

Posted

Meals on Wheels drivers will be delivering more than a hot meal to the clients this week.

Thanks to two local organizations, GSA and Ivy Tech, they also will receive valentines and a Box of Hugs.

The Girl Scouts of Troop 57078 made valentines for each client. That troop is a group of middle and high school girls from Attica and Crawfordsville. They enjoy hiking, camping, crafts, seeing each other perform in musicals and serving the community. Their leader is Ann Taylor.

The CNA program students from Ivy Tech applied for and received a grant from the Circle of Ivy Foundation to assemble Hugs Express packages for each client. The foundation is a philanthropic women’s group with more than a 1,000 members. The Circle of Ivy empowers and celebrates women making an impact on their community. They support innovative programs that help teach the students the importance of engaging with the local community.
