State Representative Michelle Davis of Whiteland (third from left) presented Hardworking Hoosier awards to David Bozell of Columbus, Sherrie Tucker of Speedway and Mark Eutsler of Linden, members of the Indiana Racing Memorial Association Executive Team during IRMA’s 10th Anniversary Celebration at the American Legion Post 500 in Speedway. She cited the three and Bob Gates of Greenwood, also an Executive Team Member, for IRMA’s achievement and said, “Your dedication and work ethic serve as a model for all Hoosiers.” IRMA’s historic marker legacy program has placed 49 markers throughout Indiana to celebrate Indiana’s racing heritage. Its national program, the American Racing Memorial Association, has placed two markers in California, two in Illinois, and one in Texas. Nearly 20,000 people have attended IRMA/ARMA events and $150,000 has been raised from local communities where the markers are installed. In May, IRMA’s Facebook page reached 26,000 likes, had 800,000 engagements, and was visited 1.5 million times. IRMA’s third marker honors 1919 Indy 500 Winner and Crawfordsville native Howdy Wilcox. It is in downtown Crawfordsville on the east side of Green Street in front of the parking lot just north of Marie Canine Plaza.
