U.S. Selective Service System State Resource Volunteer Mark Eutsler and U.S. Senator Todd Young attended the HVAF - Helping Veterans And Families Indiana luncheon at the Columbia Club in Indianapolis as guests of Professional Management Enterprises. Young co-sponsored the Veteran Housing Opportunities and Unemployment Support Extension Act. The bill allows veterans with other-than-honorable (OTH) discharges — 3% of all discharges — to participate in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s VA Supportive Housing Program. Overall there are approximately 1,000 homeless veterans in Indianapolis. While veterans comprise 9% of the city’s population, they account for 13% of the homeless population. Through the work of HVAF and Young’s legislation, there was a 35% reduction in homeless veterans. Young is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and former HVAF Board Member. Eutsler served on Selective Service local and district appeal boards 1993-2013 and has been SRV since 2013.
