Mustangs split in Bi-County consolation
Fountain Central’s boys’ and girls’ basketball teams both hit the hardwood on Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Bi-County Holiday Tournament at Williamsport.
The girls’ fell to Covington 62-41. Brooke Kirkpatrick led the Mustangs with six points, while Larissa Bowers grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.
The boys’ pulled out a 39-37 win over Attica. Andrew Shabi led all scorers with 15 points, while Carson Eberly added 14 and a team-high seven rebounds.
Mounties top Falcons
The Southmont girls’ basketball team topped Frontier 70-42 on Saturday. The Mounties are now 7-7 on the season and host Riverton Parke on Tuesday, and North Montgomery on Thursday.
Chargers winless at state duals
The North Montgomery wrestling team posted an 0-4 record at the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association Team State Duals on Saturday.
The Chargers fell in pool play to Bellmont 62-15 and Edgewood 60-24. In the placing rounds North Montgomery lost to Jay County 44-30 and Leo 43-30.
Baydin Hall (120) and Drew Webster (220) both went 4-0 on the day.
