Athenians sweep Tigers

The Crawfordsville volleyball team swept Sagamore Conference rival Lebanon 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-12) on Tuesday.

Macy Bruton led the Athenians with 10 kills, 10 digs, and five aces. Shea Williamson added 15 assists, five digs, and four aces, while Abby Bannon had 11 kills, five digs, and an ace. 

Laine Schlicher had 12 assists, two kills, and three aces, while Olivia Reed had 15 digs and three aces. Alyx Bannon added four kills, while Hallie Gayler added three kills, and two digs. Allyson Barton had two digs, and Lauren Kellerman had two kills and a dig.

Cville falls at Covington

The Crawfordsville boy’s soccer team fell 2-1 at Covington on Tuesday.

Mustangs beat Trojans in tennis

The Fountain Central boy’s tennis team defeated Covington 3-2 on Tuesday.

Carson Eberly stayed hot at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Calvin Springer. At No. 3 singles Brent Myers defeated Jackson Kindrell 6-4, 6-0, while the duo of Sawyer Keeling, and CJ Yager beat Eli Batley and Nick Turner 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles to seal the win for the Mustangs. At No. 2 singles Evan Norton beat Cody Linville 0-6, 6-3, 6-1, while Myles and Nolan Potter beat Jacob Keeling and Denton Otero 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.

Mounties tennis wins again

The Southmont boy’s tennis team picked up a 5-0 win over Seeger on Tuesday.

Adam Cox won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Trevor McKinney won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, and Conner McVay won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Long and Korhorn teamed up for a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while Brewer and McKinney won 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 2 position.

Chargers fall to Warriors

The North Montgomery boy’s tennis team traveled to Danville and fell to the Warriors 5-0. 

Jakob Kirsch lost 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Carter Livingston lost 6-0, 6-0 to Brody O’Brien, and Brookes Walters fell 6-4, 6-0 to Lex Carlton at No. 3 singles.

At No. 1 doubles Hunter Kashon and Will McKinniss lost to Jaxon Keith and Luke Phillips 6-3, 6-2, while Ben Eldridge and Haze Kashon lost to Garrett Thomas and Jared Pike 6-0, 6-0.

Mounties win 3-way

Southmont’s girls golf team picked up a pair of wins over South Vermillion and Cloverdale on Tuesday. The Mounties fired a 188, the Wildcats a 236, and Clovers a 240. Bailey Thompson and Erin Williams shared medalist honors with a 45. Carson White, and Lexi Rusk each shot a 49, while Logan Berrisford carded a 50. Playing as an individual, Macie Shirk fired a personal best 44, while Taylor Grino had a 56.

Chargers beat Gophers

The North Montgomery girl’s golf team beat Clinton Prairie 224-235. Chloe Maxwell was the medalist with a 44. Grace Shrader fired a 57.

Abbie Horn fired a 61, while Ella Stultz and Morgan Swick both shot 62s. Grace Littell had a 63, and Maggie Yeager a 68.

Athenians split triple meet

The Crawfordsville girl’s golf team split a meet with Tri-West and North Putnam on Tuesday. The Bruins fired a 199, Athenians a 219, and Cougars a 222.

Evie Redding led the Athenians with a 52, while Bailey Mittal fired a 53, and Georgia Kincaid and Gwen Redding each shot 57s. Sadie Walker had a 64, and Mckenzie Wilson a 71.

Mustangs swept by Wolves
