Indiana has passed new property tax reforms taking effect in 2027. Eligible veterans are now entitled to a property tax credit on their primary residence.
If You Have a 10-90% VA Disability Rating:
• Already Have the Disabled Veterans Deduction?
1. You don’t need to do anything. Your new property tax credit will be applied automatically.
• Haven’t Applied Yet?
1.Call and schedule an appointment with the VSO..
2. Bring in your VA disability awards letter to your appointment to verify.
3. Take completed form and ID to the Auditors office to complete your application.
If You Have a 100% Disability Rating or TDIU: You will need to apply.
• You are eligible for a 100% deduction on your homestead (CAP 1) property.
• Please call and schedule an appointment to verify eligibility and complete the application process. Bring a copy of your VA awards letter and ID to your appointment.
