Jesse Brendan Kirkpatrick, 43, of Rockville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2023, in his home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1980, at Terre Haute, to Martin D. “Marty” and Patricia “Patty” Wright Kirkpatrick. They survive in rural Rockville.
Jesse was a 1999 graduate of Rockville High School where he was active in football and he received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Franklin College in 2004. Since July 2019 he was employed as a technical lead for Labcorp Drug Development in Avon. He was previously employed by Cook Pharmica in Bloomington.
Jesse was proud of being a brother of Lamda Chi Alpha at Franklin College. He maintained that relationship following graduation, serving as an advisor and mentor to the current house members. He enjoyed football and following the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Jesse served as a 4-H Leader and project leader for the rabbit project. He had an ever-present smile and strived to make people happy and was a very conscientious and dedicated employee.
Jesse also was a supportive uncle and enjoyed attending as many of Kylie and Dalton’s events as he could … whether it was baseball, cheerleading, cattle or pigs shows, he was there if he could.
Surviving, along with his parents, Marty and Patty are sister Erin (Jason) Morgan and their children Kylie and Dalton of rural Terre Haute; aunts, Mary (Dan) Russell of rural Rockville and Mary Beth Kirkpatrick of Elkhart; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Josh Captain officiating. Interment will be in Meharry Cemetery.
