What a wonderful passage we see in Matthew 26:5-6, “And the Angel answered and said unto the women, ‘Fear not ye; for I know that you seek Jesus which was crucified. He is not here: for He is risen, and He said, Come, see the place where the Lord lay (the empty tomb).’’’ The empty tomb is a beautiful reminder to us that all Jesus promised is true. Nothing can prevent Him from keeping His word to you, not even the grave. Isaiah 55:11 reminds us, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of of mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” And it did!
Jesus Christ is risen from the dead! Satan and sins greatest tool has been defeated. Death has lost power over us. The marvelous power of the resurrection is ours forever as a child of the living God (Esphesians 1:18-21).
Today determine to walk in the power of our resurrected Savior. There are no problems we face that will not fold when confronted by His resurrection power. The challenges we face are no match for our Lord.
I have always enjoyed the epitaph Benjamin Franklin wrote to go on his gravestone:
“The body of B. Franklin, Printer
Like the cover of an old book
Its contents torn out.
And stripped of its lettering and gilding,
Lies here, food for worms.
But his work shall not be lost;
For it will, as he believed, appear once more.
In a new and more elegant edition,
Revised and corrected By the Author.”
I thank the Lord Jesus Christ that I also will be “revised and corrected,” and be in a new body in heaven with you. He is Risen!
