John Aaron Bennett, 52, of Gaston, South Carolina, and formerly of Linden, passed away unexpectedly in his home of a heart attack the evening of Dec. 25, 2023.
He was born Aug. 20, 1971, at Lafayette, to John Clinton Bennett and Loralee Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was a mechanic and worked locally as an industrial maintenance mechanic. He completed 10 years in 4-H, winning honors locally in horse show contesting and showing Duroc hogs.
Aaron graduated from North Montgomery High School in 1989 and graduated from Vincennes University in 1992.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Missy Lundy Bennett; daughter Haley (Cody) Tedder; son Hunter (Olivia) Bennett; grandson Cason Tedder, who he loved being a “Pappy” to; mother Loralee Bennett; siblings, Lisa Bennett, Stacy (Jason) Langellier and Kayla Bennett; nieces, Alice and Mallory Langellier; and aunt Ruth Anne Moseley.
He was preceded in death by father John C. Bennett; grandparents Maurice and Edna Bennett and Wayne and Mary Paith; and aunt Marie Bymaster.
A memorial in his honor will be held 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at North Cornerstone Church in Linden.
