Julia Esther (Heishman) Canada, 89, of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Whitlock Place in Crawfordsville.
She was born Dec. 2, 1934, at Indianapolis, to the late Riley and Rebecca (Graves) Heishman.
Julia graduated from St. John Academy in Indianapolis. On Aug. 6, 1952, she married Darrell Lee Canada. He preceded her in death Sept. 19, 2016.
She was a loving mother and homemaker. She loved sewing, knitting, crafting and reading.
She is survived by daughter Debra (Dave) Harwood of Crawfordsville; son David (Teresa) Canada of Tennessee; four grandchildren, Christy (Joe) O’Brien, Amy (Jeremiah) Gleason, Lori Canada and Chris DZ; and three great-grandchildren, Emma Gleason and Kenzie and Colin O’Brien.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Darrell; grandson Jason Canada; two brothers, Charlie and Carrol Heishmann; and sister Dorothy Pinkerton.
There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Jamestown. Sanders Funeral Care Crawfordsville entrusted with care.
