Kathryn M. Rush, 90, of Crawfordsville passed away March 2, 2024, at the home of family.

Born Feb. 1, 1934, to Francis Beebe in rural Illinois. At the age of 13, she was moved to Crawfordsville and was a graduate of CHS in 1954.

After a blind date, arranged by friends and dating for six months, she and Charles E. Rush were married on Nov. 6, 1954. Married 48 years, helping Charles with the farming and raising their children in a Christ-centered home.

Charles died in 1998 and Kathy remained a widow for the remainder of her years.

She volunteered in many ways. She taught Sunday school classes at Youngs Chapel Christian Church for many years. She gathered info and typed the church bulletin, and served in many ways as a member of the church Ladies Aid Group.

Also, as a member of the Gideon’s Ladies Auxiliary serving in several different capacities there, including the distribution of God’s Word to hospitals and nurses. When called on, she was always ready to go to help others. It didn’t matter how busy or involved she was in something else, she dropped it and was off to help. She also enjoyed crafts and reading.

She is survived by three children, Vicki (Dan) Halstead, Larry (Linda) Rush and Deb Hart, all of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Brandie) Hughes, Jason (Betty ) Hughes, Jonathan (Sarah) Hughes, Amber Corduan, Andrew (Danielle) Rush and Beckha (Jordan) Harrison; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Marge Rush; and two nephews, Dave and Don Rush.

We thank our family, friends and church families, the hospice team for their support and prayers. Holly, Donna, and especially Joe and her regular nurse Lou Ann always with her matching shoes and tops! This is a wonderful group of people, always there around the clock to help.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Through the Gate, 811 Whitlock Ave., Crawfordsville, or Franciscan Hospice, 1501 Hartford St., Lafayette, IN 47904.
