Ladoga Tri Kappa

Posted

Sigma chapter of Ladoga Tri Kappa met in February. Before the business meeting and in keeping with the Tri Kappa state theme of food insecurity, the group toured Mountie Mission. Founder/director Diane Cross led the group through rooms that included back to school, new clothing and shoes, library, furniture, housewares, children’s/baby clothing and supplies, food pantry, medical supplies, used clothing, toys, and meeting rooms. She keeps records of all donations and has yearly reports available. She appreciates all donations and encourages gasoline and food gift cards. There are free tables near the front doors of the mission.

President Judy Goshorn conducted the business meeting. Donations were approved to the Riley Cheer Guild, Mountie Mission, and the Ladoga Library. The large chapter-wide yard sale is May 4 at the shelter house at the Ladoga Park. All proceeds are given to South Montgomery Schools for scholarships and student recognition. Members were encouraged to start collecting items for the sale. The chapter plans to volunteer at Mountie Mission during its back to school program.

Members were reminded that March 19 meeting is name day. Hostesses will be Donna Banks and Jill Keller.
