Larry E. Wiatt, 82, of Waveland passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 9, 2023. He is now in Heaven doing what he loved, driving his John Deere combine.
Larry was born Oct. 1, 1941, at Waveland, to Isaac E. and Cletis Z. “Zoe” Wiatt (McGaughey). He was a 1961 graduate of Waveland High School.
Larry and Esther D. Paddack were married Aug. 20, 1966, at Waveland. They shared 57 years of marriage together.
Larry was a member of the Browns Valley Christian Church. He has been involved in many missions at various churches and church camps over the years. Larry loved farming. It was his whole life. He also enjoyed traveling and had visited all 50 states. For the past 20-plus years Larry and Esther have been spending the winters in Florida.
He was known as the planner, he would be the one to plan all the get togethers. Larry loved to talk about almost anything. In recent years during his illness, he might not have talked a lot, but was always a good listener.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Esther D. Wiatt; daughter Sharon A. (Jeff) Albertson; grandchildren, Zoe Albertson, Gavin Albertson, Grant Albertson, Tyler Wiatt, Todd Wiatt and Brandon Wiatt (Kassidy); great-grandson Logan Wiatt; and brother Darrell Wiatt.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; son Lafe E. Wiatt; and brother Glenn L. Wiatt.
Funeral servies will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, 301 E. Green St. Waveland, with Pastor Justin Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 at the funeral home.
