Backyard chickens are a simple and inexpensive hobby. They make enjoyable pets and provide a most basic sense of self reliance enjoyed by people everywhere in the world. Sadly, somewhere along the way it was decided that the citizens of Crawfordsville should be arbitrarily stripped of this privilege.
It is my opinion that such issues should be addressed by homeowners associations, and not the local government which we all pay for. I am sure that I am not alone. I had been assured in the past of a new ordinance proposal. It has not happened after nearly one year. I am asking for your help by contacting our city council representatives about this matter.
