God's Good News For Today

Light and leadership

Posted

I want us to begin today with two marvelous verses for our walk through life. First, Psalm 119:105, “They word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” The older I get and the farther down the path of life, I truly appreciate light as I walk after dark. Second, Pslam 23:3, “he restoreth my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name sake.”

Now the light on your path may be limited in your opinion, but it is for a reason. The Lord says He will lead you step by step (Psalm 37:23). His desire for you to rely upon Him foot by foot and inch by inch as you move forward in His plans.

At times this can discourage us when we don’t have the answers on the road map for our future. But my friends, do not be afraid or in despair. Remember by faith it is the Lord Himself who designed these events in your life for your success and His glory, “… That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God,” (1 Corinthians 2:5).

So, set your mind to trust and rely upon Him. Surrender your life and plans to Him fully. Endeavor to trust and obey immediately when He reveals your next step. He will give you power for each step you must take and bring you to the wonderful destination that your heart has been longing for, (Ephesians 3:20).

My life has been encouraged so many times by the hymn “God Leads Us Along.”

In shady, green pastures so rich and so sweet,

God leads His dear children along.

Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet,

God leads His dear children along.

Some through the waters, some through the flood,

Some through the fire, but all through the blood.

Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song

In the night seasons and all day long.

Submit to God’s plans and thank Him for giving you the strength to walk in His way.
