Lloyd Lavon Eads passed away peacefully in Crawfordsville on Jan. 29, 2024, at the age of 91. Lloyd, also known as Buck, was born Nov. 6, 1932, in Montgomery County, to the late Lloyd Eads and Martha (Blacker) Eads.

Buck was a man of many talents and passions. He attended Wingate High School, where his intelligence and hard work led him to graduate as the Co-Valedictorian of his class. During his time in high school, Buck was an athlete and played on the baseball team. One of his greatest achievements was leading his team to becoming the Montgomery County Champions during his senior year.

On July 20, 1952, Buck married the love of his life, Joanie Laverne Dale. Their union lasted an incredible 70 years until Joanie’s passing on Jan. 14, 2023. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and cherished memories.

Buck took great pride in his work in construction, overseeing numerous projects throughout his career. He had a deep love for restoring homes, gardening and farming. One of Buck’s proudest moments was working alongside his father-in-law, Harry Dale, building concrete paving equipment at Pav-Saver in East Moline, Illinois. Together, they constructed the first slip form paver.

Buck will be deeply missed by his two children, Terry (Ron) Johnson and Brad (Laurie) Eads; eight grandchildren, Grant (Katie) Eads, Cassandra Eads, Jacob (Jessica) Shaffer, Aaron Shaffer, Eli Shaffer, Sharon Lou (Jamie) Bradley, Jennie (Mark) Simison and Derek Brady; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sister Claressa Perry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Mark Lavon Eads; and grandson, David Brady.

A visitation will be held for Buck at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Loren Stephens officiating. He will be laid to rest at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Prairie Creek Baptist Church.
