Chargers fall to Knights on pitch

The North Montgomery boy’s soccer team dropped a 7-1 match against Central Catholic on Thursday. Colby Coon scored the lone Charger’s goal, assisted by Jaidyn Claycomb. Goalkeeper Jayden Rausch had 20 saves.

Mounties fall at Webo

Southmont’s girl’s soccer team kicked off the season with a 3-1 Sagamore Conference defeat at Western Boone on Thursday.

Lexie Odum scored the lone goal for the Mounties, while Belle Miller had 13 saves in goal.

“I am very pleased with how our girls played tonight,” Southmont coach Philip Keller said. “They showed a lot of grit and passion out on the field tonight.”

Athenians beat Rocks on links

The Crawfordsville girl’s golf team defeated Cloverdale 209-247 on Thursday.

Bailey Mittal led the way with a 47, while Georgia Kincaid fired a 51, and Gwen Redding a 56. Evie Redding fired a 55, and Sadie Walker a 66.

Chargers golf wins again

North Montgomery’s girl’s golf team won yet another close match on Tuesday 216-216 (won the tiebreaker on the fifth score) over North Putnam.

Grace Littell led the way with a 50, while Chloe Maxwell shot a 53, and Abbie Horn a 52. Morgan Swick shot a 55, while Grace Shrader fired a 59. Ella Stultz had a 65, and Maggie Yeager a 69.

Mustangs drop season opener

Fountain Central’s volleyball team opened the season with a 3-0 loss to Delphi (25-18, 25-13, 25-22).
