Mustangs fall to Trojans

The Fountain Central boys’ tennis team fell 3-2 to Covington on Tuesday.

Gabe McCollum picked up a 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-2 win at No. 3 singles, while the duo of Noah Armstrong and Wes Jackson beat Jackson Kindell and Emmett Reynolds 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

Skyler Hoagland fell 6-1, 6-1 to Evan Norton at No. 1 singles, while Brayden Prickett lost 6-2, 6-2 to Calvin Springer at No. 2 singles and Myles and Nolan Potter beat Carter Merryman and Koby Wolf 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.

Mounties beat Patriots

The Southmont boys’ tennis team beat Seeger 3-2 on Tuesday.

Adam Cox defeated Christian Holland 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Hayden Hess beat Dylan Walters 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and the duo of Harrison Haddock and Chayce Howell beat Nick Turner and Kaiden Peterson 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Mason Hall and Caden Jones fell to Drew Holland and Caleb Edwards 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.

South golfers win

The Southmont girls’ golf team fired a 179 to beat South Vermillion (264) on Tuesday night.

Macie Shirk was the medalist with a 38, while Addison Meadows fired a 41. Taylor Grino shot a 48 and Bailey Barker a 52. Stella Snook shot a 55 and Kelsey Thompson a 56. Deverall shot a 62.

Athenians fall to Bruins

The Crawfordsville girls’ golf team lost to Tri-West 214-255 on Tuesday.

Carli Payne led the Athenians with a 54, while Christen Saunders fired a 62 and McKenzie Wilson a 68. Nancy Blanchard shot a 71.
