Athenians down Gophers
The Crawfordsville volleyball team defeated Clinton Prairie 3-1 (19-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-18) on Monday.
Macy Bruton led the Athenians with 31 kills, six digs, and two aces. Shea Williamson had 15 assists, 11 digs and an ace, while Laine Schlicher added 25 assists, nine digs and two aces.
Hallie Gayler had seven kills, three blocks and two digs, while Olivia Reed had 15 digs, Allyson Barton seven digs, Alyx Bannon four kills, and Liddy McCarty three digs.
Chargers swept by Tigers
The North Montgomery volleyball team was swept by Lebanon 25-23, 25-9, 25-17 on Monday night.
Trojans fall to Cougars
The Covington boys’ soccer team saw its season come to a close on Monday with a 2-1 loss to North Putnam.
Layton Wooster scored the lone goal for the Trojans, who finish the season 9-4.
“Tonight did not turn out how we imagined it or had hoped it would,” Covington coach Ryan Sowers said. “We had many opportunities throughout the game but didn’t capitalize. North Putnam had a handful of chances and found the net when it counted.”
