Marilyn Sue “Missy” Rivers, 54, of Bloomingdale passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, in her residence. She was a homemaker.
She was born Feb. 26, 1966, at Clinton, to Charles “Mickey” Lawhorn and Sharon Vandivier Lawhorn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Brian Rivers, on July 31, 2020.
Survivors include: her parents of Marshall; daughter Bailey (Tyler Girdler) Whitmer of Rockville; two brothers, Chuck (Malonie) Lawhorn of Rockville and John (Maggie) Lawhorn of Marshall; three sisters, Tanya (Ron) Owens of Crawfordsville, Kelly Parker of Rockville and Shannon (Fred) Unsicker of Milan; two granddaughters, Danielle (Danibeth) Hoke and Harper Girdler; several nieces and nephews.
She was a 1984 graduate of Turkey Run High School. She served as a leader in 4-H, enjoyed cooking, shopping and spending time with her granddaughters.
The family will host a celebration of life from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Marshall Fire Department. Arrangements entrusted to Gooch Funeral Home, Rockville.
