Mary Patricia “Pat” Munstenteiger Erickson, 91, passed away Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at Saunders Senior Living, Uvalde, Texas.

Born June 24, 1930, to Benedict and Isabel (Latour) Munstenteiger of Maple Lake, Minnesota, she was the third of seven children in her family. On Aug. 12, 1950, she married William Martin Erickson of Annandale, Minnesota. To this union four daughters were born: Becky (Duane) Flaagan, Pekin, North Dakota, Cindy (Bob) Arnold, Lake City, Iowa, Jill (David) Asher, Lebanon and Jackie (Daniel) Schlichting, Uvalde, Texas.

From 1953 to 1968 Mary and family lived in Minot, North Dakota, where she was a homemaker, professional seamstress, artist and active in Little Flower Catholic Parish. From 1968 to 1975 the Erickson family lived in Milnor, North Dakota, where Mary continued her interests while her husband Bill was manager of RSR Rural Electric Cooperative. In 1975, Mary and family moved to New Richmond, where Bill became manager of Tipmont REMC in Linden. Together they enjoyed traveling on business trips, visiting family, fishing and ballroom dancing. Upon retirement in 1995 and as their health declined, they soon moved to Lebanon to be with Jill and family. Several years after Bill’s death in 2013, Mary moved to Uvalde, Texas to reside with her daughter Jackie and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill; sisters, Anabel Jude and Rita Jude; brothers-in-law Greg and Cliff Jude; brothers Joseph, Stephen and James Munstenteiger; sister-in-law Myra Munstenteiger; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lorraine and Johnny Olson.

She is survived by brother Larry (Janet) Munstenteiger of Maple Lake, Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Kathy Munstenteiger Groen, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mary Bakkan Munstenteiger, Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and Gracie Muehring; and brother-in-law Willis Muehring of South Haven, Minnesota; four daughters and sons-in-law; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special care provider Laure Schlichting.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Sept. 1 at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Leakey, Texas. Burial will be held Saturday, Sept. 11 in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
