WHITESTOWN — TDS Telecommunications is congratulating a local associate celebrating a major milestone of 50 years of service with the company. Mike McBride, senior field services technician and Bainbridge resident, works in TDS’ Roachdale office, and has served customers in the Whitestown area for many years.

Starting on April 1, 1974, with little technology experience, McBride is now an expert in telecommunications and internet service. He has seen a lifetime of advancements, from physical wire paths in the 70s and 80s, to the intricate web of digital packets that define modern technology.

Aligning with TDS Founder LeRoy Carlson’s vision of bringing outstanding communication services to rural areas, McBride has been a key player in transforming suburban and rural communities across central and southern Indiana — including Bainbridge, Big Springs, Roachdale, Fillmore, Clayton, Pittsboro, New Ross, Whitestown, Wickliffe, Poseyville, Wadesville, and many more across the state. He has also served communities in Michigan, Kentucky and Ohio.

“We are so incredibly fortunate to have dedicated associates like Mike McBride,” said TDS Telecom Vice President of Field Services Andrew Buchert. “Over the span of 50 years, Mike has played a pivotal role in ensuring Indiana residents remain connected globally. The gratitude we have for him and his unwavering commitment to both TDS and communities across the region knows no bounds.”

“TDS has provided me and my family tremendous support through health benefits and competitive wage compensation over the years, and I’ve been fortunate to have been surrounded by so many wonderful people,” McBride said. “I’ve been able to see my children achieve incredible success in their adult lives and am honored to have been a part of this company for 50 years.
