‘Chef Jeff’ McCandless
Chef Jeff McCandless is retired chef of Crawfordsville Country Club. He has lived in Montgomery County all his life. He and his wife, Jeanne, have six kids — Kim, K.C., Zane, Levi, Deena and Chad. He also has 15 grandkids.
In his spare time, McCanldess likes to cook for his family and friends. The song that always makes him get up and dance is “We are Family.”
He has been in many fundraisers as a chef, but not as an individual.
McCandless said the public should come to Dancing with the Montgomery County Stars because, “It’s the supporters that make the event. I challenge everyone I have cooked for and had the privilege to be a part of their special moment to help me and my partner Georgia make one more ‘big special moment’ I will never forget!”
Georgia Taylor
Taylor is a dance instructor and performer, and an EPN ambassador. She has lived in Montgomery County almost 20 years. She is married and is the oldest of seven children, with three brothers and three sisters. Her parents met in Georgia, hence her name.
In her spare time, Taylor enjoys painting, sketching, scrapbooking, playing video games, trying new restaurants with her husband, sun bathing and snuggling with her six cats.
Her dance background
includes classes studying ballet,jazz, modern and tap at the Crawfordsville Academy of Dance for almost 18 seasons. In roughly nine of those seasons, she has auditioned and gotten into the CAD Dance Company, where she has had the privilege of performing extra pieces with more advanced choreography. She has also had the privilege and joy of teaching classes and choreographing company pieces with her fellow instructors for four seasons.
During her time at CAD, she has enjoyed performing at Dancing with the Montgomery County Stars event, as well as at the Montgomery County 4-H Fair. She truly enjoys dancing to all sorts of genres of music.
Taylor decided to perform for this event again because of how important it is to her that all children receive love, kindness and help in their troubles.
As to why people should support her and McCandless, she stated, “Everyone should come to this event because it’s fun! Besides there being a nice meal and an exciting dance performance to watch, it’s all for a great cause. What better way to spend your time than helping out our upcoming generations?”
