MCCF announces grant-making plans

Posted

Each year Montgomery County Community Foundation, through the generosity of its donors, is able to offer grants to local nonprofit organizations.

This year two competitive grant cycles are scheduled, a spring cycle and a fall cycle, with applications due dates of April 5 and Oct. 11, respectively. Eligible agencies are nonprofits which serve Montgomery County and whose purposes are described in Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.

Local governmental entities, such as public schools, are considered when the purposes are charitable.  For the complete Grant Guidelines, visit www.mccf-in.org and from the Grants tab, select How to Apply.

Two types of grants are available:

• Unrestricted Grant requests may be made for programs and projects.

• COVID-19 Operating Support grants are available where operating funds have been impacted by COVID-19.

Areas of grantmaking are varied and include arts and culture, community development, education, health, history, human services and youth, with a special emphasis on early childhood education.

Questions may be directed to Cheryl Keim, grants and community relations director, at cheryl@mccf-in.org or by calling 765-362-1267.

Montgomery County Community Foundation is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and since 1991, has awarded nearly $24 million in grants and scholarships in Montgomery County.
