Montgomery County Sheriff Ryan Needham spoke to the Crawfordsville Rotary Club at their noon meeting. Needham has been involved in law enforcement for 28 years and is serving his second term as sheriff. The MCSO places a greater emphasis on traffic enforcement. Sometimes much information can be gotten from a traffic stop. Needham presented some interesting facts. From Jan. 1 to April 22 the MCSO received 7,200 calls. Of those calls, 2,073 were pertaining to traffic situations. One hundred and sixty-four citations were given for various offenses. At the present time there are 173 inmates at the jail. There are three shifts which includes a day shift, a mid-shift and a night shift. All deputies wear body cameras. Needham reminded us that it takes all of us to work together to help keep Montgomery County safe.
