Olmy Olmstead, a 2004 Wabash College graduate and assistant football coach at Wabash, spoke to the Crawfordsville Rotary Club at their noon meeting. Olmstead left Wabash for nine years and coached at three other colleges. Olmstead returned to Wabash and has spent 10 years coaching the offensive line for the Wabash Football Team. His wife is an organic chemistry professor at Wabash College and they have a 5-year-old daughter. Olmstead takes some of the football players to different places, such as schools in the community, to broaden their experiences and become involved in different activities. As a coach, he likes the time spent in game preparation and the relationships he cultivates with the young men at Wabash. He feels Crawfordsville is good for Wabash and Wabash is good for Crawfordsville. In his free time, he can be found pursuing Small Mouth Bass on Sugar Creek.
