Nothing to do on a winter Sunday afternoon? That was not the case for several middle school students. Members of Crawfordsville Middle School’s A-Team helped members of the Deta Theta Tau sorority sort, organize and display more than 20 tables of toys for this year’s annual Operation: Toy Box at the National Guard Armory. This was the 26th year for the local event. The A-Team is a group of seventh and eighth grade students who represent high standards in character, leadership, academics, service and attitude. The goal of the organization is to provide students with opportunities to become civically engaged community members while participating in fun service activities. Sponsors Shannon Hudson and Laurie Vellner rewarded the group’s hard work with a trip to Culver’s for some rest and refreshments.
