Organizers gearing up for Second Friday season

Posted

Organizers are gearing up for the next season of the Second Friday Pike Place Community Concert and Food Festival.

The event, sponsored by Crawfordsville Rotary and Hoosier Heartland State Bank, debuted at the downtown Crawfordsville park in 2019 as a way of giving back to the community.

“We’ve been in this community for 100 years and the community has been really, really good to Rotary,” said Rotarian Ron Hess, one of the organizers.

“And this is a fun way to give back,” added Lacey Rogers, marketing specialist for Hoosier Heartland.

The series kicks off July 9 with headliner War Radio. Other Hoosier acts The Klarc Whitson Project and Doug Henthorn and the LLC will headline the other concerts. The season wraps up in September.

Food trucks and a beer and wine garden will be on hand along with a caricature artist and face painting for children.

Performers wanting to take the stage next year can contact the Rotary at P.O. Box 841, Crawfordsville, IN 47933. Food truck vendors interested in setting up during the events should call Hess at 765-401-1165.
