Peggy Ann Foster of Darlington passed away Friday morning at home.  She was 81.

Mrs. Foster was a life-time member of Gravelly Run Friends Church.  She taught in California for eight years, then moved back to the Midwest after she married Royce Foster and she taught at the Darlington school and Sugar Creek Elementary.

Born Sept. 28, 1941 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Wallace H. Peebles and Naomi Reichard Peebles.  She graduated from Darlington High School and earned a master’s degree in education from Indiana University.  She married Royce Foster on August 23, 1971 at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas.  He survives.

Surviving family includes: husband, Royce Foster of Darlington; daughter, Shannon Harmon of Crawfordsville; son, Scott Foster of Avon; two brothers, John Peebles of Darlington, David Peebles of Texas; sister, Sandra Seipert of Utah; four grandchildren, Max Foster, Claire Foster, Krystal Thompson, Taylor Sloan; one great-grandson, Stone Thompson.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 PM Tuesday, May 30th at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Services will begin at 6 PM, led by her grandson, Taylor Sloan.  Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington at a later date.

Donations in memory of Peggy Foster may be made to the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville, or the Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association.
