PHHS cheerleaders attend camp

Posted

The Parke Heritage High School cheerleaders recently spent a week at Universal Cheerleaders Association Cheer Camp held at Indiana University.

During their four days at camp, the squad learned different routines to perform during the sports seasons. For their final day, the team performed their Game Day routine they learned throughout camp. The squad came home with a first place win for the best sideline chant in their division, the Most Improved Award and a spirit stick. Lily Roosevelt, Abbi Bonomo, Emma Patton, Arielle Hartman, Madi Coleman and Morgan Shillings were named to the All-American Cheer Team.

During the camp, the four seniors were honored for their leadership. The senior members are Lily Roosevelt, Madi Coleman, Karley Fellow, and Morgan Shillings

Abbi Bonomo received the Pin It Forward Award from the UCA staff. This award is given to cheerleaders who show leadership, spirit, and positivity. She was then asked to Pin it Forward to someone from another team. Emma Patton received a Pin It Forward Award from another cheerleader at camp who recognized the qualities she displayed throughout camp. There were over 15 teams at camp, so to be selected for this award is a special honor.

The team is coached by Brittany Kimbro and assisted by Randi Long and Katelyn Williams.
