Sugar Creek Quilters’ 26th annual Holiday Bazaar will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the lower level community rooms of the Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Known for fine workmanship, the quilters will offer many quilted gift items for sale at reasonable prices. Shoppers can expect to find handmade wall hangings, table runners, ornaments, purses, quilts and many other holiday/non-holiday items. In addition, baked items may be offered for sale.

Sugar Creek Quilters use the proceeds to fund programs and charity projects for the community. Quilters have donated quilts to veterans, the Marie Canine Cancer Center and the Women’s Resource Center.

Anyone interested in joining Sugar Creek Quilters is invited to attend a meeting. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of each month in the community room of the library. Meetings consist of educational programs and a show and tell time when members share their work. Annual dues are $20.

Periodic workshops are offered to help quilters improve their skills. Two retreats are usually held each year. One is a weekend retreat (Friday/Saturday) held at a library community room or the First Christian Church during the fall of the year. Quilters may come and go at their discretion to work on group projects or individual projects. A spring retreat may be scheduled at Threads of Time in Danville, Illinois. Participants can stay overnight in the shop’s comfortable facilities, or they may come and go as they please. This retreat has been held usually in late March or early April.
