Raymond “Ray” Wesley Crocker Jr., 74, of Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, at St. Vincent Indianapolis.

He was born April 12, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Raymond Sr. and Imogene (Blankenship) Crocker.

Ray retired from the Reception Diagnostic Center (RDC) in Plainfield after many years of service. He enjoyed the simple things in life — Dr. Pepper, and any other drink served over ice. Ray had a passion for firearms and firearm safety.

Ray was friendly and outgoing and truly enjoyed talking with the people around him. He never hesitated to strike up a conversation and was always looking for an opportunity to offer someone a kind word or compliment.

He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church and Grace and Mercy Church, where he enjoyed singing and being part of the church community. In his free time, Ray could often be found watching old westerns or listening to classic old-time radio shows.

Raymond will be deeply missed by his daughter, Jessica (Danny “Joe”) Moore; granddaughter Sarah; brothers, Michael (Glenda) Crocker and James “Jack” (Melaina) Crocker; special cousin, Katherine Blankenship; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Clarence “Dan” Crocker, Paula Crocker and David Crocker.

A gathering of friends and family will be held for Ray at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Saturday, Oct. 31 from
1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Volunteers of Mental Health for Montgomery County, P.O. Box 491, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
