Retail Food Establishment Inspection Reports March 5, 2020

When inspecting food establishments, Montgomery County Health Department officials are mandated by law to give the owner/establishment 7-10 days to remediate any violations. The inspections published in the Journal Review have either had no violations or the violations have since been remediated.

• Hoosier Ice Queen, 607 E. Wabash Ave. Inspected Jan. 6. Mobile unit inspected and approved. No violations within the trailer.

• American Sandwich Shop, 205 Waynetown Road. Inspected Jan. 9. No violations.

• DGM Group, 2401 Lot 5, Indianapolis Road. Inspected Jan. 15. No violations.

• Fat Bottom Donuts, 9402 S. C.R. 325W, Waveland. Inspected Jan. 24. No violations.

• Dollar General Store, 1013 E. Main St., Ladoga. Inspected Feb. 6. No violations.

• Darlington Mini Mart, 4483 N. C.R. 625. Inspected Feb. 18. Non-critical violations: Observed an extreme amount of grease on the hood system in kitchen; observed vents in kitchen with dirt/grease on them; observed mixing bowls not turned upside down in the kitchen (corrected during inspection); observed three boxes of coffee lids, one box of drink holders, straws, napkins and drink cups in boxes on the floor; observed light bulbs out in the walk-in cooler; observed a mold-like substance on the Mountain Dew nozzles; observed a mix build-up inside of the cappuccino makers; observed a condensation leak in the walk-in freezer; and observed daylight showing though the bottom of the back door. Critical violation: Observed frozen meat on the floor in the walk-in freezer (corrected during inspection).

• Pilot Travel Center, 4403 E. State Road 32. Inspected Feb. 18. Non-critical violation: Observed microwaves that the public uses with food debris on the inside.

• Subway, 4403 E. State Road 32. Inspected Feb. 18. Non-critical violations: Observed microwave used for warming meatballs up to temperature has food debris on the inside; and observed trash on debris on the floor in the back rooms, and in the walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer.

• Sugar Creek Elementary, 4702 E. C.R. 300. Critical violation: Observed employee food in the refrigerator unit that hold the food for the line (corrected at time of inspection).

• Canning Factory Bar & Grill, 103 E. Main St., Ladoga. Inspected March 2. No violations.

• The Laughing Cow Diner, 104 E. Main St., Ladoga. Inspected March 2. Non-critical violation: Observed food debris under the grill.
