Thanks & More

Rice family offers words of thanks

Posted

The death of a loved one is never easy even when we know it is inevitable. Our Christian faith and the concern of others helped lessen the pain and hole left in our lives by Danny’s death.

We wish to express our gratitude to all the people who called, sent prayers and flowers and attended the calling and funeral.

Our heartfelt thanks goes to Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville for the care and comfort extended by all the “sweetheart” nurses and aides with their smiles and words of encouragement. When Danny no longer wanted regular food, the dining staff furnished ice cream and unlimited Jell-O making his last days comfortable.

The outpouring of stories about Danny told at the calling and funeral dinner are now added to our memories of his sunny nature and contagious smile. These help us realize that Danny will never “die” as long as someone remembers him.

The escort to the cemetery by the New Market Volunteer Fire Department supported by the Waynetown Fire Department are considered a real tribute to Danny. We will never forget this gesture. Followed by the amply and delicious funeral served by the New Market Baptist and Freedom Baptist churches delivered the comfort that only homemade chicken and noodles can provide. It was the perfect way to concede the day.

Last, but not least, our appreciation goes to Machledt & Servies Funeral Home staff for all the details with Danny’s funeral and burial.

Thank you from all of us.

The Danny Rice Family
