Richard Ewoldt, 75, a lifelong resident of Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at Franciscan Health Heart Center Indianapolis due to complications after open heart surgery. Rick passed away with his family by his side.
Rick was born March 27, 1948, to the late Robert Fredrick Ewoldt and Mary Isabelle Ewoldt.
Rick worked as a maintenance supervisor at Wabash College for many years where he retired from. On the side, Richard loved and enjoyed building homes from the ground up here in Crawfordsville.
Rick enjoyed many hobbies in his life. Teaching his sons how to play baseball, his daughter softball, taking walks to the pond, taking the boys fishing, teaching his daughter how to safely shoot, going to car shows, spending time with family and loved ones, and building anything and everything with his hands.
Richard is survived by sons, Chris Ewoldt, Shane Ewoldt, Devin Ewoldt and Seth (Sarah) Ewoldt; daughter Megan Ewoldt; sibling Jan (Ed) Bayless; grandchildren, Jessica, Kodi, Max, Hank, Shawn, Vivian, Sage and Samuel; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Henry.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents; brother Steven Ewoldt; and sister Linda Ewoldt.
