WAVELAND — The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a temporary closure of the corner of State Road 59 and Main Street in Waveland.
Beginning on or after Jan. 22, crews will be closing the 90-degree turn located south of town.
During the closure, workers will be installing pipe structures across the road.
The official detour around the closure is U.S. 236 to U.S. 231, to S.R. 47, to S.R. 59, lasting 23 miles.
Work is expected to be completed in a few days, but is weather-dependent.
INDOT encourages all drivers to be cautious if driving near the area and keep worker safety top-of-mind.
