ROUNDUP: Mounties and Athenians win on mat, Chargers and Mounties compete in pool

WRESTLING

Mounties top wolves in final dual meet of season

Southmont wrestling traveled to Parke Heritage for the final dual meet of the season Tuesday and defeated the Wolves 57-21.

Brier Riggle (106), Tats Greiner (113), Jeffrey Pine (126), Maddox Cade (132), Gerald Hutson (138), Marlin Williams (145), Eyan Endicott (152), Wyatt Woodall (195), Collin Martin (220), and Zayden Dunn (Hwt) all were victorious for the Mounties in the win.

Southmont improves to 17-4 on the season and will travel to Culver Academy on Saturday for a invitational.

Athenians topple trojans

Crawfordsville hosted Covington and came away with a convincing 60-24 victory.

The Athenians are back in action for their final dual meet of the season Thursday when they host S. Vermillion

Mustangs tie with bison

Fountain Central wrestling made the trek to Benton Central for a dual meet with the Bison. The Mustangs and Bison ended in a rare 42-42 tie to end the evening.

 

SWIMMING AND DIVING

MOUNTIES SWEEP MUSTANGS

Southmont swimming was back in the pool after competing at the Conference meet over the weekend. The Mounties traveled to take on the Mustangs of Fountain Central with both the boys and girls coming away with victories over the Mustangs.

The boys narrowly edged FC by a score of 72-69 while the girls picked up a 104-49 win.

Marley Jones, Emma Phillips, Trent Jones, and Tyler Petroski all won two events for the Mounties. Emily Smith, Bailey Barker, Clay Allen, and Logan Harman also secured a victory for Southmont.

Chargers split with Mavericks

North Montgomery was also in action Tuesday night as the Charges hosted McCutcheon. The Mavericks and Chargers split the meet as the Charger girls came away with a 94-75 win while the boys fell 100-72.
