Roy Thomas “Tommy” Knowling, 80, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville.
He was born April 3, 1943, at Detroit, Michigan, to the late Theodore and Vera (Hancock) Knowling.
Tommy was an over the road trucker and farmer. He enjoyed watching sports, being with his close family and friends. Driving wherever his fuel tank would take him, in his Cadillac car. He was a member of the Eagles.
He is survived by his children, Saralea (Dave) Gibson, Rick (Lisa) Knowling and Nanetta Jo VanSickle; grandchildren, Dustan (Amee) Lyons, Darrin Lyons, Blake (Hanna) Knowling and Logan (Gage) Zeller; great-grandchildren, Rhett and Ruthlynn Knowling and Easton and Hazel Zeller; sister Bonnie (John) Storm; brother Toby (Catherine) Knowling; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Debbie Knowling; sisters, Carolyn “Susie” Hedrick, Maryann McClure and infant sister Cindy Lou Knowling; brothers, Teddy Knowling, and Hobie Knowling; nephews, Shawn Storm and Derek Knowling; and son-in-law David A. VanSickle.
There are no scheduled services currently. A graveside service in Roachdale Cemetery will be held at a later date. Servies & Morgan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
