Russellers’ Roundup set for weekend

RUSSELLVILLE — The annual Russellers’ Roundup celebration is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the Russellville Community Center

Breakfast will be served both mornings 8-10:30 a.m., featuring Barb’s homemade cinnamon rolls, sausage gravy and biscuits and scrambled eggs. Lunch and dinner will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m. The menu includes fish, tenderloin, kettle cooked ham and beans with cornbread, coneys, hot dogs, sloppy joe, macaroni salad, potato salad, slaw, chips, nachos, French fries, watermelon, sliced tomatoes, homemade pies and a variety of drinks.

New this year will be a kids’ corner with sno-cones, cotton candy, face painting, making friendship bracelets and games.

All are invited to roller skate from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $3 and skates are provided.

Registration on Saturday is at 11 a.m. for a mini (1 and 4 cylinders) tractor pull. The tractor pull begins at noon behind the community center. For questions about the pull, contact Tom Howell at 765-866-0383.

Also in the gym on Saturday is the baby, Junior Little Miss and Mister and Little Miss and Mister contests. These are set to begin at 1 p.m. Interested people should contact Chasity Goss at 765-918-8821 to register. 

Following the contests, Fonda, a gospel and country-western singer, will perform 3-4:30 p.m. in the gym.

The final event for Saturday is a corn hole tournament. Registration is $10 per team and will begin at 5:30 p.m. The tournament will start at 6 p.m. Contact Jim McGaughey at 765-307-6078 for more information.

A church service is planned at 11 a.m. Sunday. North Putnam Band members will provide a concert starting at 1:30 p.m.

Mike Simpson also will have his tractors to view both Saturday and Sunday.
