Bob Ryker is seeking a position on the Franklin Township Board.
The Republican from Darlington works for Indiana Farm Bureau. He also coaches girls golf and girls basketball at North Montgomery High School. His memberships include American Legion Post 302 and Moose Lodge 6.
Ryker is seeking a position on the township board because he has dedicated his career and volunteer service to helping others, and he wants to use those experiences to continue serving the community.
“As an insurance agent, I work every day with families, farmers, and small business owners to protect what matters most to them,” Ryker stated. “My job requires me to listen, solve problems, communicate clearly, and make thoughtful decisions that people can trust. Those same skills are essential for effective public service.
“Outside of my profession, I have spent countless hours coaching and mentoring young people. As a coach, I have learned that strong leadership is built on preparation, accountability, teamwork, and leading by example. Working with student-athletes, parents, school administrators, and community members has strengthened my ability to bring people together and make decisions that serve the greater good.
“These experiences have taught me the importance of being approachable, transparent, and fiscally responsible. I understand the value of carefully managing resources, listening to different perspectives, and making decisions based on facts and the long-term interests of the community.”
If elected, Ryker will bring a strong work ethic, a servant’s mindset, and a commitment to representing every resident with integrity and respect.
“I am passionate about giving back to the township that I proudly call home and will work diligently to ensure Franklin Township continues to be a place where families, businesses, and future generations can thrive,” he said.
