Dr. Rex Ryker, Assistant Superintendent of Crawfordsville Community School Corporation, spoke Oct. 19 to the Crawfordsville Rotary Club. Ryker told stories from his early school life. It was during this time that the seeds to serve were being planted. He said the seeds of learning to care came from his time working at North Montgomery High School. Mentors were important in Ryker's life. He mentioned several teachers and coaches who played a role in helping him find his life's work. Ryker is a Wabash College graduate who taught high school English and was the principal of Nicolson Elementary School for three years. Ryker said, "All children can learn. It's up to parents, teachers, coaches and other adults to plant the seeds for a child's future."
