Dr. Samson Adam Benjamin, 81, of Claremont, California died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at Rancho Cucamonga, California, after a prolonged illness.

Samson was born Oct. 30, 1942, in Gary, Indiana, and practiced as an ObGyn for 32 years in Crawfordsville and LaPorte. He was a faithful husband, a devoted father and a doting grandfather. His caring, generosity and quick wit will be dearly missed.

Samson is survived by wife Jeanne Evelyn Benjamin; children, Samson “Ben” Benjamin Jr. (Marcella Zita), Arika Benjamin (Jesse Metzger) and Jake (Kate) Benjamin; eight grandchildren, Gina Gonzales, Mika Benjamin-Uyeki, Tadashi Uyeki Benjamin, Sasha and Shanton Metzger, Adrian, Evelyn and Quinn Benjamin; twin brother Samuel (Maria) Benjamin; sister Leona Kelaita; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by father Adam; mother Margaret; siblings, Adam Jr., Myron, Daniel and Lilia Arzumenian; and brothers-in-law, Jake Arzumenian and Johnson Kelaita.

He was a loving husband, a devoted father and a doting grandfather. His caring and generosity and quick wit will be dearly missed.

An intimate service was held Jan. 25 at St. Mary’s Assyrian Church in Tarzana, California.
