Saturation patrol nets two impaired drivers

FOUNTAIN COUNTY — On June 30, troopers from the Lafayette Post conducted a saturation patrol in Fountain County searching for dangerous and impaired drivers. During the patrol, troopers issued 48 citations and 16 warnings. Troopers also arrested two subjects for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and drug-related charges.

Shon Burnett, 31, Indianapolis, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated  - endangerment, possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle while intoxicated – with a controlled substance.

Kwenton Eldridge, 29, from Danville, Illinois, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a passenger less than 18 years of age and possession of marijuana - prior.

The Indiana State Police is committed to traffic safety and will continue to conduct saturation patrols to locate and apprehend impaired drivers. We would like to remind the public to designate a sober driver or utilize ride-sharing companies.

To report a suspected impaired driver, please call 9-1-1. When you call, be prepared to describe the vehicle, location, and direction of travel.

The arrests listed above were investigated by Trooper Smith and Trooper Howell, and both troopers were assisted by Trooper Fulfer, who is a Drug Recognition Expert.
