Montgomery County will be represented in the state Distinguished Young Woman scholarship program by two contestants.
Abby Sayler has been named the Distinguished Young Woman of Southmont High School. She is the daughter of Jenny and Tim Sayler and plans to attend Ball State to become a board certified behavioral analyst.
Sydney Neideffer has been named the Distinguished Young Woman of North Montgomery High School. She is the daughter of Julie and Randy Neideffer and plans to attend Purdue University to become a commercial airline pilot.
They will compete Feb. 16-17 at the state competition at Indiana University, Kokomo.
Organizers thank the American Legion Byron Cox Post 72 for hosting the program and for their donation to the scholarship program. Additional sponsors include the American Legion Auxiliary, Nucor, Tri-County Bank and G Team Mechanical.
