School board candidates focus of forum

Posted

This year’s 2022 General Election Candidates “Meet and Greet” Forum will feature candidates for positions on the Crawfordsville Community School Corporation School Board.

It will take place on Tuesday on the third floor of Fusion 54. Candidates will appear beginning as 6:15 p.m. with a “meet and greet” followed by the forum beginning at 7 p.m.

The forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County to provide an opportunity for voters to hear directly from all of the candidates at one time on current issues and allow them to meet and question the candidates.

“This is a great opportunity for voters to talk with the candidates one-on-one and listen to their answers to questions from the sponsors and the audience,” said S. David Long, a League member and event moderator. “The LWVMC believes it’s important for voters to be well informed and this is just another way for them to gather information on the candidates and their positions on various issues that will impact Crawfordsville schools.  I encourage those interested to come with any questions they feel are important to the future of our city school system.”

The format will allow candidates to present an opening statement, answer questions provided by the sponsors followed by questions from the audience.

For those who cannot attend in person, the forum will be broadcast live on radio station WCDQ 106.3 FM.

Information will also be available on Early Voting dates, times and places. This information will also be broadcast daily on the local radio stations.

The last day to register to vote is Tuesday and in person early voting begins Oct. 12. Election Day is Nov. 8.
