Chaney Scott was selected as the winner of the Distinguished Young Woman of Montgomery County scholarship program. First runner-up was Bracy Slavens.
Scott is a senior at Southmont High School and will be representing Montgomery County at the 2022 state program at Kokomo in February.
She is the daughter of Shawn and Monica Scott. She is involved in gymnastics, tennis and cheerleading at Southmont. She also hastaken dance for 15 years.
Program organizers would like to thank all of the sponsors that generously donated to the scholarship program. Those sponsors include the Eagles, American Legion Auxiliary, Stone Creek Lodge, Byron Cox Post 72, New Market Methodist Church, Kiwanis, Tri-County Bank, Nucor Steel, Rotary and On the Spectrum.
