Shirley Ann (Hutchison) Springer, 74, of Crawfordsville passed away early Saturday morning, Dec. 30, 2023, surrounded by family. She bravely fought cancer for more than four years.
Ann was born June 11, 1949, at Carmi, Illinois, to the late Willie H. and Addie Beulah (Roam) Hutchison. She married Timothy Springer on Aug. 18, 1967, at Wingate. He survives.
Ann graduated from Coal Creek Central High School and has been a Montgomery County resident since 1953. Tim and Ann lived many years in Waynetown before moving to Crawfordsville. She retired from Franciscan Health Crawfordsville having worked there for more than 26 years through many changes in administration.
Ann was devoted to her family and enjoyed all of their activities. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, crafts and reading. Ann had a great love of the outdoors and loved taking care of her flowers. She especially loved warm summer days when she could enjoy her flowers and watch the hummingbirds as they danced around the feeders in her yard. She was proud to be a life member of Weight Watchers International.
Surviving, along with her husband Tim, are son Tim Ray (Jane) Springer of Stafford, Virginia; daughter Robbin (Tom) Tyo of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Ashlie (Corey) Veilleux, Morgan Springer, Lexi Tyo, Jordan Tyo and Meredith (Nate) Harper; and two great-grandchildren, Auden and Charleigh Veilleux.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Helen Desnayers; and brothers, Bill, Donnie, Jimmy, Jerry and Junior “Willie” Hutchison.
Ann’s family will receive visitors 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. A celebration of life will follow from 3-4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marie Canine Center or the Medical Surgical Unit Franciscan Health.
