Sondra Dittmer Sixberry of rural Crawfordsville is seeking the Republican nomination for Montgomery County Clerk.

Sixberry, 52, is self-employed. Her memberships include: Nazarene Church, Emmaus Community, former Montgomery County Chamber member and former BNI member.

She is a graduate of Southmont High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University and a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University.

Sixberry said her patriotism led her to seek her first public office.

“My father proudly served in Vietnam, and my grandfather bravely served in World War II as an underwater demolitions Frogman, a predecessor to the Navy SEALs,” she said. “I deeply love my country and all the heroic men and women who have sacrificed to defend it, just as I dearly love my community.

“For the past 20 years, my husband and I operated a demanding 24/7 emergency services business in Montgomery County, which occupied much of my time and attention along with caring for our family. Now at this stage of life, I feel called to give back to my community in a new capacity.”

As county clerk, Sixberry would leverage her unique background, including strong customer service skills, attention to detail and analytical abilities, to provide the office with a different perspective.

Sixberry and her husband Troy are the parents of three children, Caleb, Krista and Caden.
