Hoosier Heartland State Bank is proud to announce that April Smekens has been promoted to underwriting department manager and assistant underwriter.
Smekens will be providing leadership and oversight of the department to ensure the department functions effectively and efficiently. She will also ensure that HHSB’s loan quality standards are maintained through the underwriting process.
She has worked for HHSB since 2017. She has 24 years’ experience in her field and has an associate degree in professionalaccounting from Indiana Business College.
“April has been instrumental in the success of our department and has developed a vast knowledge needed with regards to connecting all areas of our team,” said Tammy Harshbarger, vice president of ag/commercial lending. “We can’t express how lucky we are to have her on the HHSB team, her value is immeasurable.”
